What is waiting?
There are loads of fun statistics out there of how long we spend during our lives waiting on lines or waiting for packages or waiting for friends who are late.
Is waiting an action or is it more of a state of being? If we are doing other things while we wait, are we still waiting? Does it make a difference if we are doing something productive (like cleaning) vs. unproductive (like social media) while we wait?
There appear to be different flavors of waiting. Doing something productive while waiting seems to shift us into a state of doing while doing something unproductive keeps us in a state of being. Sometimes it’s okay to just waiting and seemingly waste time; however, at some point, we’ve got to put down the phone find something else to do.
