Continuing the taking notice series (see previous posts: intro, taking notice of our body, taking notice of your thoughts, what to do when noticing)
Trust in yourself is a very big part of the equation.
Trust in your body, thoughts, emotions, and abilities. Trusting in ourselves is not something we are taught. We are taught to listen, obey, follow, be careful, and look at authority outside of ourselves.
If you could use some practice in trusting yourself, observe and point out what you can do. Start small if needed. I trust that I can bring everything I need to the beach. I trust that I can get to my destination even after I get lost. I trust that I can learn to play a new game.
It may feel silly. Know that slowly building trust in these little ways boosts our abilities to trust ourselves in deeper situations.
