Last week, I reached a big milestone with the podcast – 500 downloads!
When we are younger, milestones are mostly set for us. First steps. First foods. First day of school. Graduation. Birthdays. And if we grow up with such people around us, they celebrate with us, oftentimes, initiating the celebration.
When we get older, milestones aren’t quite as obvious or structured. No one is following us around with a calendar and megaphone ready. We have to recognize those milestones for ourselves and celebrate. Maybe that is part of reclaiming our power. At least it has been for me.
Celebrating myself feels selfish and boastful because I didn’t grow up with many celebrations for me so it’s unfamiliar and is taking some getting used to. But I’m also not going to wait around for someone else to recognize my achievements first. That’s the difference between living an inspiring life vs. living an inspired life.
And with that, I want to remind you to celebrate YOU today. You don’t need to wait for anyone else to acknowledge the amazing things you are doing. You are more than enough! And if you care to, share with me!
