Sitting in meditation connects us with ourselves.
But this is not automatic. And in fact can be traumatic.
We may have been told to sit down and shut up. Sitting may trigger the moments where we were made insignificant and we were voiceless.
Sitting in long meditation may remind us of time out in the corner. How can nirvana be achieved when it makes us remember the moments we were other’ed?
How do we reclaim sitting? Sit in circle. Connect with others in that circle, see yourself in them.
