I mopped the floors yesterday. Yes, this is a noteworthy thing in my household.

The floor felt so nice after! None of that stickiness from spilled cereal milk, the humid summer air or random slime projects. No crumbs or dust bunnies or Lego pieces underfoot.

Just floor.

I felt like the house itself was clearer, less burdened.

I had no idea how much a clean floor could impact how I felt but it makes sense, especially since I am walking barefoot on it during this warmer season. While my counters may still be in need of some TLC and closets in need of decluttering, I’m happy to learn that a couple hours of mopping can really make a difference – something I’ll look forward to doing more often.
