It is funny how after a month off writing, there is this pressure of what to write. It reminds me of when I would write less frequently on my blog. It felt like I had to write a novel each time not just “for the algorithm” but also because it felt like my one opportunity to talk about X and it had to be comprehensive.

So, as much as I want to dive into all the things in this first post, I am taking a step back to say – if you have contemplated stopping or changing your participation in something (e.g., an activity, a committee, a job) but have felt fear because it would feel like you would lose a part yourself, do it.

Maybe losing yourself is exactly what you need.

I write everyday because it allows me to voice what is at the surface. Once that is out of my head, I can dig in another layer deeper. My daily writing practice has been my greatest exploration of self and humanity. Sign up here to receive these thought nuggets in your inbox on the daily.
