The saying goes “Hindsight is 20/20.” It is only after we experience something that we are able to say why it happened.
Makes sense, right?
Well, what if we could have hindsight vision in the present?
I think it is possible!
When I popped the wheel on my car a few weeks ago, I experienced a touch of this hindsight vision in the present day. It was a new experience for me and a bit overwhelming as I was thrown into the midst of trying to contact my husband, car company, doctor and family and friends but I did not feel sorry for myself and I was not crying “Woe is me.”
Instead, I had a knowing that the tire popped for a reason. I didn’t know the reason nor do I ever need to know it. Knowing that it happened for a reason was enough for me to get off the pity train and step into my power.
One of my truths is that everything happens for a reason. It is only through my hindsight that I have come to this conclusion so don’t throw out the hindsight. It is immensely important to practice hindsight so that then, we can see 20/20 in the present when the time comes.
A daily practice challenges the person who creates on “inspiration.” We have to mother everyday, and ultimately, it is the daily grind that gives us perspective, clarity and the “high’s” of motherhood. I am exploring if the same happens when I write everyday on the topics that normally light me up – motherhood, self-development, healing and creating.
