We all want validation. It feels good and super comfy to be told that we are right. And it is easy to build an echo chamber of friends, family and colleagues around us to continue feeling that comfort.
However, growth is not comfortable. And growth requires moments where we are invalidated so we can unlearn, shift and re-form our thoughts. Growth requires outside perspective that pushes the boundaries of our thoughts.
Find the people who you would call “your people” because that is important – we need connection and co-regulation to survive. And then also find people who are different and who bring that little bit of discomfort to bring you out of your comfortable patterns.
A daily practice challenges the person who creates on “inspiration.” We have to mother everyday, and ultimately, it is the daily grind that gives us perspective, clarity and the “high’s” of motherhood.
